Anna is getting a new master-planned community with more than 1,800 homes, resort-style amenities and a shopping center anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market. Veritas Communities celebrated the groundbreaking of Liberty Hills on Oct. 8, kicking off construction on the 866-acre development west of U.S. Highway 75 between Rosamond Parkway and Mantua Parkway.

Home sales are expected to begin in early 2027, with homes planned across multiple neighborhoods alongside pools, trails, green space, recreation areas and future retail and dining options. The development will also include homes overlooking Hurricane Creek Country Club’s golf course.

Veritas Communities is investing $50 million in infrastructure and amenities for Liberty Hills as Anna continues to grow north of Dallas.

“With Anna’s rapid growth, collaborative leadership and enthusiasm for the future, we saw an opportunity to create a community that brings more of everyday life together in one place,” said Kevin Lazares, co-founder and managing member of Veritas Communities. “From groceries and recreation to time with neighbors, our goal is to create a place where residents can enjoy a full life with more of what they need close to home.”

Two Neighborhoods, Six Homebuilders

The first phases of Liberty Hills will include two residential neighborhoods, each with its own amenities and homebuilders.

The Preserve at Liberty Hills will feature 991 single-family homes built by William Ryan Homes, David Weekley Homes and Sandlin Homes. Planned amenities include a climate-controlled center with event space, a resort-style pool, playground, putting green, fishing pier, recreation lawns and walking trails. Residents will also have access to an outdoor pavilion with an open-air kitchen and an overlook deck with a fireplace and views of the community pond.

Sales in The Preserve are expected to begin in early 2027. Trails and pocket parks are scheduled to start opening in summer 2027, followed by the amenity center in early 2028.

The Greens at Liberty Hills will add another 451 single-family homes from Grand Homes, Perry Homes and Shaddock Homes. Its planned amenities include a resort-style pool, cabanas, a playground, recreation lawns and a covered pavilion with a dual-sided fireplace, kitchen and grill stations. Home sales in The Greens are expected to begin in late 2027.

Across the development, homes are expected to range from approximately 1,800 to 4,000 square feet, with prices starting in the $400,000s and reaching $1 million.

Sprouts Farmers Market And More Retail Planned

Liberty Hills will include a commercial area near its entrance at U.S. Highway 75 and Rosamond Parkway. Sprouts Farmers Market will anchor the retail area, which will also include 30,000 square feet of additional leasable retail space. According to the city of Anna, construction is anticipated to begin in December 2026.

Across U.S. Highway 75, the future Rosamond Corners development is also expected to add shopping options, with Kroger Marketplace planned as its anchor.

“It is exciting to watch the Liberty Hills community take shape right alongside Anna, as the City grows and welcomes new neighbors,” said Anna Mayor Pete Cain. “Today’s groundbreaking reinforces our vision for Anna as a place offering a wide range of housing options, where residents can access everyday conveniences and connect with one another.”

217 Acres Of Green Space And New Roads

While homes and retail will account for much of the development, Liberty Hills also plans to preserve 217 acres for amenities, open space and native areas. A network of community trails will connect residents to recreation areas throughout the property.

The development sits near Hurricane Creek Country Club, where residents can purchase memberships for access to golf, dining and other club amenities. Select Liberty Hills homesites will border the golf course.

Veritas Communities is also funding roadway improvements intended to support the area's growth. About 2.5 miles of roadway work is planned, including Mantua Parkway west of U.S. Highway 75. The roadway is expected to be completed by mid-2027 and will provide an east-west connection through the area.

The first segment of Standridge Boulevard, stretching from Rosamond Parkway to the northern boundary of The Greens neighborhood, is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
